just a note

To my dear future husband:
My honey bunchkin lover bunny-
I am in no rush to get married. I still need to backpack Europe and Peru. And you obviously aren't in any rush either or else you would have found me by now. But tonight I legitimately got asked out by an 18 year old. This has got to stop. I don't mind dating you for a while before we tie the knot. Honestly. Just get me out of this. Where are you?!?
Lovingly,
L

Guys. I had another one of those "boys drool" moments a few weeks ago. Here's how this conversation went:

I was doing my coaching thing with my track kiddies up in the weight room and one of the other coaches, who is a male, was also in there doing the coaching thing too.

He went over and stepped up onto the scale and exclaims, "Hey guys! I weigh 30 pounds more than I did in high school! That's great!"

I, a little curious, went over and weighed myself. To my horror, I found out, "Hey, I do too...."

Awesome.

street style

Meet Bill. One of my new favs (favorites, if you will).
He is the 80+ year old street-style photographer for the New York Times.
His job description includes riding his Schwinn (rainsnoworshine) around NYC capturing pictures of the truly fabulous.

[If you don't take money, they can't tell you what to do.]
[I'm not interested in celebrities with their free dresses, I'm interested in clothes.]

"Cunningham's enormous body of work is more reliable than any catwalk as an expression of time, place and individual flair. In turn, Bill Cunningham New York is a delicate, funny and often poignant portrait of a dedicated artist whose only wealth is his own humanity and unassuming grace."

What. a. guy.
Can't wait to see this!

goofy goober

I turned on my camera this morning and found these gems hiding among my pictures.
Really, I love living at home.

We all agree- this banister in our house is ugly as sin but it sure makes a good drying rack for our clothes.

I love living at home.

a trip to the warm

I got to go on a spur of the moment trip down to AZ this weekend to run the Del Sol Ragnar Relay race.
200 miles: 27 hours: 12 runners: no sleep.
It's a good time, really.

I could have done without the freak six-hour flu bug that had me barfing in the middle of the desert in the middle of the night
but the free massages at the end made it totally worth it.
